Who is Chris
Chris is a humanitarian leader working at the intersection of operational excellence and systemic accountability. After a brief career in investment banking, he transitioned to the non-profit sector in 1990, embarking on a three-decade journey with the United Nations dedicated to advancing social justice and human dignity.
Having served as a Senior Director (D2) at the World Food Programme (WFP), Chris’s career is defined by leadership in some of the world’s most challenging environments, including Pakistan, Myanmar, Afghanistan, and Southern Africa. From leading front-line responses to large-scale natural disasters to steering global fundraising and high-level negotiations with member states at WFP’s headquarters in Rome, his work has consistently bridged the gap between immediate crisis response and long-term strategic resilience.
Chris views the complexities of global humanitarianism not just as a logistical challenge, but as a profound responsibility toward institutional and collective integrity. He was instrumental in designing WFP’s global performance and risk management systems, driven by the belief that the highest levels of accountability are essential to honoring the trust of those the UN serves. His approach integrates the analytical rigor of his early financial career with a deep, heart-led commitment to advocacy and social equity.
For him, ICH is an embodiment of the values he lives by. A practice of trust-based, strategic, and globally rooted collaboration dedicated to building a more humane and sustainable world.
