Community guidelines

A community built on shared principles.

How we listen, work and learn together.

Participation in ICH spaces

ICH's community is guided by collaboration, inclusivity, ethics, sustainability and empathy. These expectations apply when taking part online, in courses or at events.

Collaboration

Listen actively, share ideas openly and build on one another's strengths. Offer constructive feedback, support teamwork and pursue shared goals in good faith.

Inclusivity

Respect different experiences, cultures, identities and abilities. Help make spaces accessible. Listen to people whose voices are often underrepresented and do not dismiss someone because their perspective differs from yours.

Ethics

Be honest, fair and transparent. Misrepresentation, harassment, exploitation and other unethical conduct undermine trust and are not accepted. Make contributions with an intention to inform, inspire or help others.

Sustainability

Consider the lasting social, cultural and environmental effects of decisions and the resources they use, including people's time and knowledge. Aim for long-term wellbeing rather than short-lived advantage.

Empathy

Engage with kindness, patience and respect. Disagreement is welcome when it is expressed thoughtfully and with a real effort to understand other perspectives.

Raising a concern

If you encounter behaviour that conflicts with these principles, contact admin@ichumanity.org. ICH will consider concerns with care and take appropriate action for the setting.
