How we work

Good work begins
with listening.

Local people know their communities. ICH helps them find useful relationships, share learning and explore what comes next.

Connection in practice.

Four ways ICH can contribute.

Connect

Begin with a conversation.

Bring local leaders, researchers and organisations together. Listen to what a place needs before deciding what might help.

Support

Make room for local leadership.

Offer coordination, advice, introductions and visibility around the priorities of the people leading the work.

Learn

Share what experience teaches.

Make research and lessons from practice useful to others. Ask what changed, for whom, and what could be done differently.

Mobilise

Help the next step happen.

Connect ideas with people, institutions and resources. Agree clearly who leads, who contributes and what comes next.

Our working model

Locally led.
Globally connected.

We call this Coordinated Regenerative Localisation: local decisions, supported by wider relationships and shared learning.

Global connection

Bring people, knowledge and resources across borders, so every initiative need not begin alone.

Local ownership

Keep decisions with the people who understand the place and live with the consequences.

Continuous learning

Carry lessons from experience back into the work. Ask what changed, for whom, and what needs to change next.

How learning keeps the work accountable

Progress includes the quality of participation and relationships, as well as practical outcomes. Listening, feedback and reflection help partners revisit assumptions and adapt what they do.

For example, the July education conversation connected perspectives from ICH’s educational network; its recording now lets others explore those ideas in their own setting.

Local ownership

Each relationship
has its own shape.

A conversation may lead to shared research, practical collaboration or a useful introduction. Decisions stay close to the people doing the work.

A few useful answers

Who can approach ICH?

Community groups, researchers, educators, institutions and supporters whose work is grounded in dignity, inclusion and care.

Who leads the work?

Local organisations lead their own initiatives. ICH contributes connections, learning and other agreed support.

Can I apply for a grant?

ICH does not run a direct grant-application programme. We can discuss partnerships and ways to connect an idea with support.

Are courses open for enrolment?

Learning opportunities are being explored with partners. Dates and participation details will be shared when programmes are available.
